I will surely remember participating in the Discover It Yourself project for a long time.
This trip has taught me a lot, especially in the areas of teamwork, transport organisation, budget planning, using maps and public transportation, and above all – acting in crisis situations. I have met a lot of people of various characters and behaviours which allowed me to reflect on myself. Thanks to this journey I have got to know what I value and what I absolutely can’t stand about other people. I have learnt a lot from every person I have met, especially from my travel buddies. Luxembourg surprised me with its picturesqueness, wonderful culture, beautiful views and great free public transport. Bruxelles, in turn, disappointed me. It appeared to me as dirty and dangerous, despite its beautiful market square. I have great memories of Wilbert, a representative of an organisation, whom we had met in Amsterdam and had stayed in touch with throughout the entire trip. I am incredibly grateful to the girls I travelled with — Hania, Oliwia, Weronika and Karolina. Despite huge difficulties we supported and helped each other, making sure we safely came back to Poland. My favourite memory is swimming in the sea in Nice after the entire day of travelling. I wish I could go back to that moment. This project remains a bittersweet memory to me. In spite of many unpleasant situations, I try to cherish the beautiful memories and stay in touch with people whom I have met during the trip.
I encourage you to participate in mobilities organised as a part of non-formal education because they are a great experience. It is worth trying to see how beautiful the world is, and to get to know yourself better. Memories and friendships created during such trips stay for life. I strongly recommend to my peers to travel as part of the DiscoveryEU ticket. It is ecological and, to my surprise, really comfortable. I myself would love to take another train journey around Europe.

Thanks to the project I have gained new experience which will be useful in the future.
The project has taught me that you should not turn a blind eye to some situations and react immediately. I have very fond memories of the cuisine and the local people I managed to meet in some of the countries – especially the lady from the environmental project we met in Nice and the Italian cuisine I tasted in Milan. Unfortunately, due to unpleasant situations with the rest of the participants, the project did not end as it should have, but I am grateful for the support I received from the organisation and especially from the coordinator, Justyna.
I encourage you to participate in activities that are a part of non-formal education because they give opportunities for gaining valuable experience, getting out of your comfort zone and learning about life and customs of people in different countries.
