During the project in Greece I met wonderful people and saw a lot of ancient monuments…

Unfortunately, the training itself wasn’t very substantive. I learnt the most about the cultures of the participants’ countries, which also made me see that many stereotypes are not reflected in reality. These trips are always eye-opening and make you appreciate your country much more.
I’m very grateful for the opportunity to go to another country and meet different people. Greeks turned out to be extremely cheerful and open. However, their cuisine, despite its wide recognition, didn’t appeal to me. At first, a big barrier for me was the Greek language, because it uses a different alphabet. But it turned out that many people speak English, so I didn’t have much trouble.
Our organizers were very friendly people, but as I mentioned above, the training itself was not substantive. We also had a feeling that the organizers were convinced that we were learning a lot of new things.
Regarding the sending organization itself – LEVEL UP, I have no complaints. Those people actually supported us and reminded us of deadlines. I’m grateful to them for it.
Such trips are a wonderful opportunity to meet interesting people, broaden horizons, exchange experiences, look at certain issues from a new perspective and learn about different cultures.

Everyone was feeling positive towards each other….

The trip to Greece was my first trip from Erasmus+ program, so I didn’t know what to expect. After arriving there, I was incredibly surprised by the cheerfulness and openness of the people I met there.
Everyone was feeling positive towards each other. The project was focused on the Olympic monuments of ancient Greece, but we stayed away from theory! We managed to see a lot of monuments with our own eyes! The project was filled with curiosities, but there was still time for a day off! We spent it on a sunny beach in Kalamata.
Highly recommend!

It was a great opportunity to learn about the history of Greece…

Because of the fact that this was my first exchange, I didn’t know what to expect. In hindsight, I can say that making the rather spontaneous decision to go, allowed me to gain many valuable experiences and memories that I will never forget. The project enabled me to learn about other cultures and bond with people with similar values. What’s more, it was a great opportunity to find out about the history of Greece and to have a chat with its extremely friendly residents. I want to thank LEVEL UP for the support and the chance to go, and I recommend Erasmus+ projects to everyone.
Participation in foreign exchanges allows you to broaden your perspectives, gain new knowledge and meet people with similar interests and values. It’s also a great opportunity to improve your language and gain valuable experience – both professional and real-life. I encourage anyone who has the possibility to take part in this type of project to send an application, no matter the doubts that arise. I believe that getting out of our comfort zone is the best way to grow.

The ‘’Ancient Olympic Spirit Illuminates Young People’’ project was very special to me…

Not only because it was my first training, but also because of the topic we were working on. The aim of the project was to raise awareness among young people about healthy lifestyle via sports. We also had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Olympic Games and Greece itself. While in Olympia, we visited local museums and the ruins of the former Olympic center. Personally, I’m very keen on sports, I practice running every day and I’m preparing for a marathon. I’m also a sailing instructor, which makes the sport an integral part of my life. However, it’s not only the topic that makes up the project, but also the people I had the opportunity to meet. Seven countries participated in the training, most of which I had the chance to get to know better for the first time by talking to the participants. Throughout the training I also assumed the role of Polish team leader. During the project I got to taste real Greek cuisine, which I normally don’t encounter at home. It was an awesome experience.
The possibility of going abroad with people from different countries and discussing various important topics together is something we don’t encounter on a daily basis. That’s why we should take advantage of such exchanges and training opportunities, and I, as a participant, can spread the word about them.

I just lived there and then and enjoyed every moment of training…

Getting on the plane, I didn’t actually know what to expect. It was my first project of this type. Having experienced it, I can admit that signing up for this training was one of the best decisions. I didn’t think it would help me open up so much to people from other countries. Although at first I was overwhelmed by the large number of people, by the end I was sad that the project was ending and I had to say goodbye to all of them.
I really appreciate the support of people from LEVEL UP and especially our leader Zosia. I really felt that if something happened, I could always go to her and talk to her about it. I was also surprised by how I got engaged in this project. I had so much fun during it, that I didn’t worry about what would happen after I returned home. I just lived there and then and enjoyed every moment of the training.
I definitely recommend such trips to my peers. They greatly broaden one’s perspective and open one up to the world.
