During those five days, I received a large dose of inspiration for
further development…

The aim of the project “Level up” was to improve the competence of the digital skills of the LEVEL UP team. The topics of training were very diverse: WordPress, prototyping, design thinking, web development, blockchain, NFT. During those five days I received a lot of inspiration for further development.
A hackathon was an interesting experience during which I met a Polish artist living in Luxembourg. We worked together on using the newly acquired knowledge of digital tools to promote her art. It was my first trip with LEVEL UP and also, a first visit to this country. I received full support from the association – I felt looked after, before and during the trip.
Luxembourg is a beautiful and friendly country through which you can travel using public transport completely for free! Of course, we had to use that to our advantage. We dedicated free time to do some sightseeing.
I am glad that I could take part in this project.
The trip was a worthwhile experience, an opportunity to broaden horizons, learn about a new culture and meet interesting people.

The trip, in general, was a great inspiration and motivation for further development…

Taking part in this training was a great experience for me. It was my first trip after the pandemic and also my first visit to the country. It was definitely a surprise to me to notice a great mixture of influences from other countries on the culture and the lack of at least one of their national “symbols.” A mixed bag of languages was very stimulating and inspired me to continue learning at least one of them.
Regarding the topics of the training, I gained a lot of new information and was offered an opportunity to develop in presented topics. I was very interested in crypto currencies and blockchain, and the fact that was able to start my experience with programming gave me a confirmation that it was possible to try everything and find fun in doing so. Contact with organisation handling the training was a good opportunity to exchange experiences in NGO work in different countries and also see how they organise different events, for example: the Hackathon. The trip was a great inspiration and motivation for further
development. I think I was most impressed by a walk around Luxembourg. After leaving a business corner, we found ourselves among the historic ruins in a few minutes. Around the bend, a waterfall and nature straight from the centre of the wilderness were awaiting us.
I definitely recommend such trainings as a form of horizon-broadening, gaining knowledge and also finding a new hobby. A trip like this gives so many possibilities and it’s a shame not to accept them. It is also an ideal option when you don’t have travel partners and you don’t want to travel alone – you can meet new people with similar interests.

During the whole training, I met many inspiring people from the non-governmental sector in Luxembourg…

Participation in the project gave me an opportunity to find more information about the new tools that were useful for web-based activities, NFT and activities to support the development of any organisation.
During the whole training I met many inspiring people from the non-governmental sector in Luxembourg and all those who wanted to know more and came there to learn how to promote themselves and their brand.
Luxembourg appears to me as a beautiful and calm country to live, which manages its limited resources wisely and is at the forefront of worldwide prosperity. Locals were kind and helpful.
I’m grateful to LEVEL UP that I could take part in that event and get to know such a beautiful country and learn something new. I could count on their full support both before and after the project.
Participation in such trainings allows you to broaden your horizons and enrich the experience. Only by travelling and interacting with other cultures are we able to understand the diversity of different points of view.

Training in Luxemburg gave me a lot of knowledge and ideas about the direction in which we should develop our organisation…

Training in Luxembourg gave me a lot of knowledge and ideas about the direction in which we should develop our organisation. WIDE Organisation not only arranged the training for us, but also offered an opportunity to exchange good practices as representatives of the organisation. As it turned out, many of the barriers we encounter in Poland as NGO are also created in such business-like and socially developed Luxembourg.
During the training I was able to recall the basics of HTML programming and learn a bit about CSS which absolutely helps me in the development of our website, as they say: “not everything can be done with a plug.” It was my first time taking part in a hackathon where I worked on an idea whose author was a girl from the USA who planned to improve the UX/UI level of the websites of the restaurants in Luxembourg. Thanks to this task, I could find more about the UX, in particular about conducting a pre-audit and creating a persona.
A major barrier for me was understanding blockchain and NFT, even though the workshop was very basic. It was an issue that was completely new and surprising, yet very hard to understand in those few hours.
I was very impressed with the city, its history and how clean and well-maintained it was. Free public transport for all is a major social progress to improve the environment.
I think that participation in the international trainings is very necessary for educators and it’s worth taking part in when it comes to learning about new areas in which Polish NGO can also develop. The exchange of experiences is a step forward for the education of the entire organisation. The development of an organisation equals the development of the whole sector, so it is worth investing your time, money and energy in this.

During the training I gained a lot of valuable knowledge, saw how
NGO work and got to know a new country…

Training in Luxembourg was the first LEVEL UP project in which I had the opportunity to participate and I will remember it very well! During it, I gained a lot of valuable knowledge, saw how NGO work and got to know a new country.
During the daily meetings we discussed many topics related to the website development such as WordPress, UX/UI, HTML and CSS. It allowed me to expand my knowledge which can be useful for my future work as well as now as I help with the administration of the LEVEL UP website.
I also really enjoyed the lecture on the basics of Blockchain and NFT. The speakers were very knowledgeable and were happy to answer questions. I was able to use the acquired knowledge at the hackathon because I was in a group that designed its own NFT. This was the first hackathon I attended. I learned how to create my own NFT and developed teamwork skills.
Apart from the lectures, we also managed to explore Luxembourg. We were lucky because during one of the lectures we met a Polish woman who lives in Luxembourg, who showed us around and told us interesting history of this country!
I think that if you have the opportunity to go to another country for training, you should definitely take it! In addition to the knowledge you acquire, you gain new experiences, learn how other organisations work and get to know the culture of a country.
