In Armenia, the cuisine was surprising…

Armenia is an exotic country which I wouldn’t visit if it wasn’t for LEVEL UP. During the trip, I met wonderful people, both from Poland and from other countries participating in the project. During the project, I was able to find out how small changes can make my life healthier. Taking part in the project gives you the opportunity to learn more about the field of your choice. During the trip, no one knows you and it is easier to try new things. In Armenia, I was able to build my self-confidence. I had the opportunity to do it and I am very glad that I took up this challenge. What I learned abroad, I brought with me to Poland and introduced into my life. In Armenia, the cuisine was surprising. Food is an important part of Armenian cuisine. There is always plenty of it and it is very tasty. I recommend the more courageous ones trying such exotic dishes as the tail or the tongue, whereas those who prefer less crazy food, lavash bread and basturm. The Armenians are very hospitable and proud of their culture. What was surprising for me was that when I gave someone a gift, I received an unexpected gift in return. In Armenia, there’s also beautiful nature, still untouched by man. The atmosphere in the country is indescribable. You have to experience it. The moment that I will always remember is farewell, when I had to say goodbye to those extraordinary people with whom I managed to create a well-coordinated team during these few days. And despite the fact that each of us returned to where we came from, I still stay in touch with some of the participants and I hope that our paths will cross again.

They say travel is the best education. After the international trip, I completely agree with this statement. I think that regardless of whether we want to get to know the host country, improve our English or meet new people, it is worth going on this extraordinary adventure and coming home richer in experience.

I was surprised that the community there was so open and helpful…

Thanks to the exchange in Armenia, I broke my language barrier. I met many wonderful people, found out about their experiences, and I could learn a lot from them. I improved my teamwork skills. During the project, we also had the opportunity to learn healthy competition as well as overcome the cultural barrier – we played team sports with the local community and talked to them about bad habits, healthy eating, etc. I was surprised that the community there was so open and helpful. Not to mention the delicious treats we had the chance to taste – sour tomatoes and black walnuts… it’s a must!

I’m grateful for this opportunity. I love meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and traveling is a pleasure for me. Funny story… while we were playing “fish” online with the local community, we all ran away together and started running around the main square in Dilijan laughing and having fun. We had a large audience watching us and some of them laughed. It was a wonderful moment, because even though we neither knew each other nor spoke the same language, we played together and didn’t think about what divided us.
