Pieces of Peace

The Pieces of Peace project will address the topics of xenophobia, cultural racism and anti-immigrant currents. The level of these phenomena is increasing, even in European countries, which we can witness in the current situation across our eastern border. The main goal of the project is for a group of people from different countries, ages and cultures to create tools to raise awareness on the above-mentioned topics, creating an environment of peace by reducing unpleasant actions towards foreigners, immigrants, people from other countries and other cultures. As part of the project, a youth exchange will take place – “Camp of the Peace” on 03/07/2023-12/07/2023, in DATÇA, Turkey.

Actions that will be taken in the project:

As part of the project, a youth exchange will be organized where:

we will organise debates on xenophobia and racism and discussions on the increase in the level of xenophobia and racism in social media
there will be meetings and talks with immigrants living in the town where the youth exchange will take place
project participants will take part in Q&A sessions on xenophobia and racism with representatives of local authorities
project participants will prepare articles on ways to fight xenophobia and racism
The exchange will end up in the creation of the “Manifesto of the Youth”, which will oppose xenophobia and racism.

During the project, we:

gain knowledge about the issues of racism and xenophobia and counteracting them
establish an intergenerational dialogue and teach cooperation on a supra-national level
exchange experience, world view and knowledge
make new friends and get to know other cultures
promote tolerance and mutual respect
learn how to involve local communities
promote self-responsibility and proactivity of the youth
