GREEN ME UP

The “GREEN ME UP” project aims to raise environmental awareness among youth from different parts of Europe. The project focuses on education about the climate crisis and sustainable development through the use of non-formal education methods. The aim of the project is to encourage young people with fewer opportunities to engage with the environment and promote active participation.

Actions to be undertaken in the project:

Youth exchange for 36 people from 5 countries (Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Greece) including activities such as:

Increasing knowledge on environmental education and sustainable development
Raising environmental awareness of the participants and the local community
Working with the use of non-formal education methods
Encouraging actions at all levels (local, regional, national and European)
Working in international groups in English
Organising cultural evenings to learn about the customs and cuisines of the participating countries

What we do during the project:

raise awareness of participants and the local community about ecology and sustainable development
create a social campaign to be implemented by the participants in Avola, Sicily, where the project is taking place, and after the project, this campaign can also be applied in other countries
strengthen and promote active participation of young people with fewer opportunities
implement good practices among young people
take actions to protect the environment
develop communication skills, learn to cooperate in an international team
develop linguistic competence by working in English
