Gaming the System: Transformative Education for European Youth Workers
The “Gaming the System: Transformative Education for European Youth Workers” project is an innovative training course aimed at revolutionising youth work through the strategic use of gamification. Gamification means the use of elements of games in education, marketing or management, to increase the engagement and motivation of the participants. The project aims at developing participants’ professional skills and knowledge through discovering and mastering the techniques of gamification which make learning more dynamic, engaging and efficient. The project is intended for youth workers and focuses on equipping them with gamification skills.

Activities to be undertaken in the project:
A training course for 30 people from seven countries (the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Romania, Lithuania, Portugal, and the Czech Republic), including activities such as:
- Expanding knowledge on using gamification in youth education
- Working using the methods of non-formal education
- Creating a user-friendly PDF guide on implementing gamification for youth workers
- Promoting innovative methods of teaching
- Raising awareness of Erasmus+ programme
- Strengthening the potential of the organisations participating in NGO management, youth work and education
- Activities on local, regional, national and European levels
- Working in groups in the English language
- Cultural evenings aimed at getting to know the customs and food of a given country
What will we do during the project:
- raise the participants’ awareness of using gamification in youth education
- promote innovative methods of teaching
- gain gamification skills in youth work, thanks to which learning may become more engaging and efficient
- create a guide for European youth workers
- develop communication skills
- enhance understanding and involvement in the Erasmus+ programme among the participants
- learn cooperation in an international team
- develop language skills through working in English
