Discover Lodz City

Lodz, despite being the fourth largest city in Poland, struggles with a negative image both among residents and people from outside the city who base their opinions on stereotypes and old-fashioned beliefs. We aim to change a negative image of Lodz. We want residents to begin to see the potential and beauty of their city which in the long-run perspective will influence their greater involvement in the life of the local community and make them proud to represent Lodz outside. We desire the beneficiaries of the project to become better acquainted with its rich historical and cultural heritage which so far has often been ignored or underestimated. We want them to be aware of unique places, events and characters associated with the city. In that way, they will be able to share this information with others.

In the framework of the project, we are planning to organise 7 topical walks around Lodz. The walks will be combined with interesting facts about Lodz, visits to museums, and admiring the city that we often fail to appreciate in the rush of everyday life. Moreover, a unique guide will be formulated based on experienced walks and trips in the framework of the project. The e-guide can be downloaded at any time from our website.

Actions that will be taken during the project:

  • Topical walk – Manufactured Lodz
  • Topical walk – Industrial Lodz
  • Topical walk – unique barnyards
  • Topical walk – the greenest city
  • Topical walk – Lodz – revitalization, the city is more beautiful from year to year
  • Topical walk – Lodz – Mansions and Palaces
  • Topical walk – Lodz at the time of the Christmas period, Polish and Lodz Christmas traditions
  • Publication of e-guide about Lodz, based on walks conducted

What we do during a project:

  • We present alternative ways of spending free time that will integrate residents of Lodz and people coming from the European Union.
  • Raise historical awareness.
  • Promote regional cultural heritage.
  • Promote an equal society, taking into account the needs of people with disabilities and creating an atmosphere of acceptance.
