MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY FOR ACTIVE DIGITAL EUROPEAN CITIZENS

The project aims to enhance skills and broaden the knowledge of youth workers in the field of efficient media usage as a tool for personal and professional growth, as well as the development of local communities and youth groups. The main goal is to increase media awareness and critical thinking skills among the participants, which will allow them to efficiently function in the European professional and social context.

Activities to be undertaken in the project:

• the organisation of training for 33 participants from 11 different European countries  
• creating workshops, practical sessions, and discussions on sensitive subjects, increasing participants’ awareness about diverse usages and influences of media
• creating media content by the participants, and understanding the influence of media on culture and intercultural dialogue
• enabling online support after the course ends so the participants may continue using acquired techniques.

What we do during the project:

• we improve critical thinking to judge the credibility of information sources 
• we gain knowledge about the functioning of the media and information technology
• we explore the role of media in shaping public opinion and political systems
• we develop digital skills and an understanding of the ethical and legal aspects of media usage 
• we promote awareness of media usage in different contexts – educational, professional, and social.
