One Earth, One Life

The project is dedicated to all the residents of the local community who are not indifferent to the environmental issues. The target group is made up of people who want to gain practical knowledge about applying favourable solutions from the area of broadly-understood ecology as well as those who want to change their environment for the better. Moreover, we want to reach out to the youngest: children and youth, by inviting them to participate in a game through which we’ll try to instil in them the importance of taking care for the natural environment. We are aware that the change of behaviours and habits of even a small group of people will, in the long term, bring about a change noticeable to the whole environment. We believe that, by organizing the following project and all the activities within its framework, we’ll encourage other people to take similar initiatives.

To implement the goals of the project, we plan to organize 6 different activities/initiatives which will help increase pro-ecological attitudes among the local community:

 “Cooking with leftovers” workshop

“Cooking with leftovers” workshop

One of the infamous traits of people from all around the world is food waste on a frightening scale.

Spring campaign: planting trees

Forests and parks are the green lungs of our environment. We want to contribute to their development, especially in the current situation, when many forest areas have suffered from fires.

 “Ecobasketball” city game

“Ecobasketball” city game

An educational city game for the residents of Łódź, during which the participants will acquire knowledge about ecology and proper waste segregation.

Vintage bazaar + clothes remake workshop

Vintage bazaar + clothes remake workshop

A clothes exchange bazaar for the participants and all the people who want to tidy up their wardrobes and get something new at a minimal cost.

Shopping planning workshops

Shopping planning workshops

Each one of us at least once went shopping without having a plan/list and chose products which we thought would be useful. After some time, it turned out that we had bought another unnecessary packet of cheese or a can of corn which we have no idea what to do with and which, if not eaten for a long time, will expire.

Homemade cleaning supplies” workshop

Homemade cleaning supplies” workshop

Cleaning supplies and other detergents are used in every household, every day. Later, when rinsed off, they get into the rivers, seas and soil, causing devastating contamination and damage to the environment. Those situations can be avoided, and certainly reduced, by instead using natural cleaning supplies, based on homemade and natural ingredients that most of us have in our homes.

“Homemade natural cosmetics”

“Homemade natural cosmetics”

Every day, each one of us uses cosmetics that were purchased at the chemists, etc. Not everyone is aware of the fact that many of them can be made at home from natural ingredients, which a lot of people have in their kitchen.

“Second life of rubbish”

“Second life of rubbish”

DIY workshop - every year, an average Pole produces over 300 kg of waste. This amount multiplied by the number of residents of our country gives a frightening result. The situation of such a large scale can be avoided (or at least reduced) thanks to reusing some waste and giving it another life.
